Paris Sightseeing Attractions That You and I Will Like Immensely

Paris

Probably, there are millions of people in the world who are yet to see Paris, the ‘city of lights’. I too am one of them. Somehow, Paris is not beckoning me. Maybe it is because of my wrong preconceived notions about the sightseeing places in Paris.

From what I have read thus far about Paris attractions in various travel blogs, Paris travel guides are mostly showing churches and museums that you are supposed to marvel the architecture. Of course, they are worth seeing but the majority of Asians, Africans, and Canadians are dying to explore the Paris’s best restaurants and bars, shopping malls and visiting theaters, strolling on avenues and Champs Elysees, and so on.

In this blog post, I will report about such attractions in this city that the majority of us would love to see. Sure, I would touch Paris’s places of pride too but I will just hover over them and plunge into the world’s fashion and entertainment capital.

Trivia:

Do you know some of the world’s finest fashion and cosmetics names of Paris? They are:

  • Yves Saint-Laurent
  • Christian Dior
  • Lancôme
  • L’Oréal

You can also shop around for wonderful makeup and beauty products in Paris’s flea markets. That’s a big money saver.

Eiffel Tower

Eiffel Tower, Paris

I can’t escape from the Parisians’ ire if I don’t mention the Eiffel Tower and that too at the top of Paris sightseeing attractions. After all, Eiffel tower is the “Pride of Parisians’-right? Unless the visitors to Paris take a selfie of themselves with the backdrop of Eiffel Tower, they cannot prove to their relatives and friends that they had been to Paris.

Louvre Museum

Ah, the Louvre! This is one more historical landmark of France that a visitor will be taken by the guided tours. It is a wonderful place to see irrespective of your religion. As you exit the museum, you will be glad that you spent time in a place of historical importance and thus you also became a part of history. It’s how you would feel.

How much time will it take to see the Louvre museum fully?

Though you may be exit the Louvre palace in about 3 hours, I read an interesting piece of information about “how much time it will take to see the Louvre museum fully”.  Even you spend just 10 seconds in front of every object, and repeat it for eight hours a day; it will take 75 days to completely see all the pieces! Incredible!

Moulin Rouge

Moulin Rouge

From now on, it will be a fun and entertainment-oriented sightseeing attraction in Paris.

If I ever happen to visit Paris, my first sightseeing place would be the Moulin Rouge. It is a cabaret dance venue and theater that shows romantic comedy films. Tickets to the events in Moulin Rouge are hard to come by. I won’t mind even if I don’t get tickets; I would still visit the place. What about you?

Disneyland, Paris

Disneyland Paris

Wherever in the world, the most visited theme parks are Disneyland. There is one at here. It is the only Disneyland in Europe. The other popular Disneylands are located in Los Angeles and Orlando, United States.

The ‘Disneylands’ too have seen quite a lot of evolution. Instead of being a place for fun rides and eateries, they have been converted into big cities with resorts and five-star hotels and high-end restaurants and bars.

Seine Cruise

The River Seine is the next best attraction of this city. A short cruise in the river will be an enjoyable and memorable ride. The cruise ship starts from the famous Notre Dame church and goes up to the Eiffel Tower and drops you back at the Notre Dame. You can see most of the famous landmarks here during an hour-long ride.

Trivia:

Do you know that the River Seine flows for 800 km to converge with the English Channel?

Champs-Elysées, Paris

Champs-Elysees is a long street here. However, don’t discard it as it is only a street. It’s a tree-lined avenue and a very beautiful place to visit and spend some time sinking into the scene and witness how the Parisians are relaxedly enjoying their evening.

The Champs Elysees is an important landmark in Paris. You can find several restaurants, nightclubs, and shops. If you don’t know French, you can just do window-shopping but you can always eat at any restaurant even if the menu card is clueless to you. You can point out the pictures beside each dish and place your order. You are sure to enjoy a range of French wines. The Champs Elysees is the stamp of Parisians’ social life.

Jardin du Luxembourg

Jardin du Luxembourg, Paris

As it seems, it is a public garden. I could not find a proper video of it. The park is all green with landscaped lawns, statues, fountains, and manicured plants.

As I wrote earlier, Champs Elysees is littered with restaurants and bars. If you don’t taste the famous French wine in one of the wine bars in Champs Elysees, your Paris trip is not complete.

Other architectural sightseeing spots in Paris.

Paris seems to be a city of places. History lovers and architecture buffs would certainly make a date with the following palaces and ancient cathedrals in Paris:

  • Place des Vosges
  • Notre Dame cathedral
  • Palace of Versailles
  • Sainte-Chapelle

There are more museums, palaces and churches in this city than parks. Nevertheless, it is a city to be seen once in a lifetime. If you are a person of fine taste, adore yourself for your knowledge of gourmet French food and wine, then, you must plan your next holiday to Paris.
