Last week, I was speaking to my cousin living in Delhi and asked him his experience of staying in resorts near Delhi during Saturday and Sunday.

Whether it is a normal weekend or a long island, we have an urge to get away from our hometown. Our motive is to spend the weekly holidays away from home, avoid household chores and taste different foods.

1. Malji Ka Kamra, Churu, Rajasthan

Yes, this is where you will be staying for two days. The word “kamra” in the title must have made you visualize a drab room in a dingy hotel in rural Rajasthan-right?

Now, look at the Malji ka Kamra! This was a mansion once that is called ‘haveli’ in Hindi. This haveli is 100 years old!

This mansion is located 300 km from Delhi, this may not be one of a Resorts near Delhi but worth for stay.

In spite of its huge size and palace-like appearance, it has only 12 rooms.

Though there are different types of rooms such as Yello Murals and Red Murals, the furniture is just about the same in all; an old-world grandfather high cot with transparent (well almost) drapes.

Since all the rooms are fairly large, you can choose whatever is available and you will be comfortable. You must look forward to the delicious Rajasthani cuisine that might make you to either come again or extend your stay. Yes, the food will be top class, buddy!

There is nothing much to see around Churu except meet the villagers. I think this is a blessing in disguise as you will fully enjoy your room and the food.

2. Resorts near Delhi: Patan Mahal, Patan, Rajasthan

Oh, absolutely beautiful and majestic! The imposing structure of the lovely Rajasthani pink stone building that certainly doesn’t look like a hotel. Is it another haveli or a palace of the brave Rajputs that has been converted into a luxurious weekend getaway?

This is a resort near Delhi, this is much nearer when compared to Malji ka Kamra, Churu. The distance is only 190 km that you can cover in less than 5 hours by car.

Located at the foot of a hillock, the mansion’s backdrop of green cover gives it a richer appearance. The interiors and the furniture are all royal Rajasthan personified as is evident from colored glasses for windows, real wooden furniture of yesteryears and thick cushion on the sofa and dining chairs.

This castle also somewhat resort near Delhi. Located about 275 km from Delhi, this exquisite mansion is built on a beautifully landscaped garden. Again, the interior of the mansion and the furniture are authentic Rajasthani, boss!

4. The Gateway Resort Damdama Lake

Now, we veer away from Rajasthan and go towards Haryana and Punjab. I know the readers from Uttarakhand State are waiting patiently to see some of their scenic resorts amidst forest and the River Ganga listed here as superb weekend getaways in Resorts near Delhi. “You will see them next, friends”!

Ah, dreamy-eh? I must appreciate the photographer who captured this photo. He knew where the beauty lies and brought them in his focus.

I am sure it is worth making a trip to this weekend getaway even if the distance is slightly far off at 330 km. I would advise a late evening departure on Friday.

The background of the resort is the cool and lush green Shivalik Hills. Naturally, the cottages and rooms must be facing the forest of the hills.

For outdoor activities, be prepared to enjoy a rare horse riding experience in truly natural surroundings. If you dare, you can have a go at:
